Paulo J Vega has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Paulo J started their career at Instituto Neurológico de Colombia as a Neurologist from 1991 to 1994. Paulo J then joined Abbott as a Medical Marketing Manager from July 2006 to December 2007, and later as a Business Intelligence and Market Access Director from January 2008 to April 2011. At Abbott, they also served as the Immunology Commercial Director for the Andes Region and the Ecuador and Peru Commercial Director from December 2011 to January 2013. Paulo then joined Grupo Cahisne as the Head of Neurology for a brief period in February 2016. Paulo J later joined AbbVie, where they held the roles of Immunology Commercial Director for Latin America from February 2013 to June 2015, and as the Medical Director for the LA Region North from July 2015 to February 2016. Currently, Paulo is working at Biopas Laboratorios, where they hold multiple positions, including Chief Medical Officer starting from September 2019, Director of Medical Affairs since January 2019, and Latin American Business Development and Market Access Director since May 2016.
Paulo J. Vega has an extensive education history. Paulo J began their academic journey in 1981 at Universidad del Rosario, where they pursued a degree in Health and graduated with an MD in 1987. Following this, from 1987 to 1991, they attended Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, specializing in Neurology and earning the degree of Neurologist. After a significant gap in their education, in 2010 to 2011, they enrolled in Adolfo Ibañez Business School and the University of Deusto, studying for a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Lastly, in 2015, they obtained further education in Value Measurement for Healthcare at Harvard Business School.
