Anahita Fathi, MD, currently serves as Associate Director of Clinical Development Infectious Diseases at BioNTech SE since January 2024. Anahita has been a research associate (Habilitandin) at Universitätsklinikum Hamburg Eppendorf since January 2017, focusing on the Institute of Infection Research and Vaccine Development, while also completing additional training in Infectious Diseases, Tropical Medicine, and outpatient care. Anahita has held various roles including Chief Infectious Disease Fellow in a German Research Council-funded program and has served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at the same institution. Anahita's contributions extend to the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine, where involvement as a Clinician Scientist includes investigating new vaccine strategies and coordinating clinical studies. Anahita has been active in medical education and research leadership within the German Society of Internal Medicine and the German Center for Infection Research. Anahita's medical education includes degrees from the University of Münster and St. John's Medical College Bangalore, with a strong foundation in immunology and infectious diseases.
