Juan Pablo Frias is a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in diabetes care and leadership. Currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer and Head of Diabetes at Biomea Fusion since September 2023, Frias has held significant roles including President and CEO of the National Research Institute from October 2014 to December 2018 and Chief Medical Officer at both the National Research Institute and Tethys Bioscience, Inc. Frias has also worked at Johnson & Johnson as Chief Medical Officer and WW Vice President of Clinical and Medical Affairs. Educational credentials include an MD from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and a fellowship in endocrinology from UC San Diego, complemented by a BA in Philosophy from the University of Florida.
