Karissa Cottier, PhD, is a Research and Development Manager and Senior Scientist at BioIVT since January 2019. Cottier previously held the position of Postdoctoral Fellow at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health from June 2018 to January 2019, focusing on research related to cerebral malaria. Cottier completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Medical Pharmacology at the University of Arizona, where research involved drug delivery to the central nervous system in relation to migraine headaches, as a Graduate Research Assistant from August 2013 to May 2018. Additionally, Cottier worked as a Graduate Research Fellow at Science Foundation Arizona, engaging in STEM outreach for K-12 students from August 2013 to August 2015, and conducted independent research as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The University of Toledo from June 2012 to June 2013, investigating apoptosis mechanisms in rheumatoid arthritis. Cottier holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology and Toxicology from The University of Toledo.
