Paul Temkin is a Senior Scientist at Biogen, where employment began in March 2018. Prior to that role, Paul served as a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University Medical Center from April 2012 to February 2018, focusing on the cell biology of learning and the trafficking of AMPA receptors. Paul’s experience also includes a Postdoctoral Scholar position at UCSF from September 2011 to April 2012, investigating beta-2 adrenergic receptor sorting. Earlier in their career, Paul worked as an Education Volunteer with the Peace Corps in Ghana, teaching various science subjects and contributing to curriculum development. Paul's academic background includes a PhD in Cell Biology from the University of California, San Francisco, obtained between 2005 and 2011, and a BS in Biochemistry with College Honors from the University of Washington, where studies were completed from 1999 to 2003.
