Chuck Pelly has extensive work experience in the design industry. Chuck served as the Chief Creative Officer at Intersection-Inc. from 2013, where they focused on integrating business and human-centered design with technology and data. Prior to that, they were also the Chief Creative Officer at The Design Academy, Inc. from 2003, which was a collaboration with Intersection-Inc. to teach and integrate human-centered design thinking. Chuck Pelly was part of the Strategic Planning Committee for the 5 Year Plan at Biocom San Diego starting in 2015.

Before joining Intersection-Inc., Chuck Pelly had their own consulting firm called Pelly Design Management from 2000 to 2003. Chuck also had significant roles at Designworks, A BMW Group Company, where they served as the President and CEO from 1995 to 2000, and as the Founder and President from 1972 to 1995. During their tenure at Designworks/USA, they positioned the company as a leader in transportation, product, and new-media design. Chuck also played a key role in the acquisition of Designworks/USA by BMW in 1991.

Prior to their time at Designworks/USA, Chuck Pelly was an Associate at Henry Dreyfus Associates from 1961 to 1972, where they directed design activities for various clients. Chuck also worked as a Designer at McFarland, Lathem Tyler and Jensen, Inc. from 1960 to 1961. Throughout their career, Chuck Pelly has demonstrated expertise in design and has been recognized for their contributions in Industrial Design Magazine's Annual Design review.

Chuck Pelly's education history includes attending ArtCenter College of Design where they pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Industrial Design.
