Kristen Mayer has extensive experience in the field of regulatory affairs and medical research. Kristen is currently working as the Global Regulatory Strategy Lead at the Bill & Melinda Gates Medical Research Institute. Prior to that, they held various roles at Sanofi Pasteur, including Director of Global Regulatory Affairs where they led a team responsible for the clinical development strategy of the entire vaccine portfolio. Kristen also worked as Deputy Director and Manager of Regulatory Affairs at Sanofi Pasteur. Before joining Sanofi Pasteur, they served as a Scientist at Southeast Collaboratory for Structural Genomics and worked as a Project Coordinator. Their work experience spans over two decades, showcasing their expertise in regulatory strategy and management of medical research projects.
Kristen Mayer obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from the University of Rhode Island, which they completed between the years of 1988 and 1992. Following this, they pursued further education and earned a PhD in Biochemistry from Penn State University, where they studied from 1992 to 1997. Subsequently, Mayer continued their academic journey by becoming a Postdoctoral Fellow in Biochemistry at Indiana University Bloomington from 1997 to 2001.
