Prior to that, they earned a Master of Arts (MA) in International Studies, with a focus on Chinese Politics, from the University of Washington between 2011 and 2014. In 2013, they received a Chinese Language Certificate from National Cheng Kung University. For their undergraduate education, they attended Guilford College from 2004 to 2008 and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Political Science, with a concentration in BA International Studies. Additionally, they completed a Chinese language and Area Studies program at Beijing Normal University in 2006.
