Eliza Bryant has a diverse work experience in the education field. Eliza started their career as a First and Second Grade Teacher at Chicago Public Schools from 2006 to 2011, where they designed and implemented interdisciplinary curricula and acted as a grade-level chair. Eliza also served as a Clinical Instructor for the Urban Teacher Education Program, mentoring student teaching residents.
From 2011 to 2014, Eliza worked as an Elementary Math Educator at the Center for Elementary Mathematics and Science Education/University of Chicago. In this role, they facilitated professional development for teachers, collaborated with school administrators, and coached teachers to improve math instruction. Eliza also wrote grant proposals for additional funding.
In 2014, Eliza joined Big Shoulders Fund as the Director of Academic Programs and Enrichment, where they developed and managed academic programs. Recently, they have taken on the role of Managing Director, Teaching and Learning.
Additionally, Eliza was a founding design team member and Governing Board Chair at Be the Change Charter School from 2008 to 2022. Eliza played a crucial role in developing the school's mission and vision and building partnerships with other organizations.
Eliza Bryant's education history includes attending various institutions over the years. From 1996 to 2000, they attended Edgemont High School, where they did not acquire a specific degree or field of study. Following high school, Eliza enrolled at Emerson College in 2000 and 2001, with no specified degree but focused on film production. Later, they pursued further education at the University of Chicago from 2002 to 2005, obtaining an AB degree in 2005. Eliza'sstudies at the University of Chicago focused on American History, particularly early American religions and race relations. Eliza then continued their education at the University of Chicago from 2005 to 2006, earning their Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Early Childhood Education and Teaching through the UChicago Urban Teacher Education Program (UTEP).
