Berny Jacques has a diverse work experience. Berny began their career as a Legislative Intern with the U.S. House of Representatives in 2008. After that, they served as the Student Association President at Washington Adventist University from 2008 to 2009. From 2010 to 2011, they worked as a Summer Associate at Brennwald and Robertson Llp. Jacques then joined the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida as a Judicial Intern in 2011. Berny later worked at the State Attorney's Office, Florida's 6th Judicial Circuit as a Certified Legal Intern and eventually became an Assistant State Attorney from 2012 to 2016. After that, they served as an Associate Attorney at Berkowitz & Myer from 2016 to 2017. Jacques then worked at Bay News 9 as a Political Analyst from 2020 to 2021. Since 2017, they have been serving as the Senior Director of Partnerships at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay. Most recently, Jacques has taken on the role of State Representative for the Florida House of Representatives, starting in November 2022.
Berny Jacques pursued their education by completing a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Stetson University College of Law from 2009 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in History and Political Studies (cum laude) from Washington Adventist University from 2005 to 2009.
