P. Danielle Nellis currently serves as the Deputy General Counsel for the Tennessee State Board of Education, tasked with managing discipline litigation and stakeholder outreach. Nellis is also an active Board Member for PENCIL and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee, promoting school community investment and youth mentorship, respectively. Previous roles include Counsel at Klein Solomon Mills, Adjunct Professor at Vanderbilt University Law School, and a judicial law clerk at the Davidson County Criminal Court. Nellis has extensive experience as an Assistant District Attorney in Davidson County, with a focus on complex prosecutions and community outreach, and practiced law as a solo practitioner at Nellis Law. Nellis earned a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and a B.A. in P-12 Education with a Spanish focus from Spelman College.
