Sylvie Bouffard is a seasoned professional in the field of process engineering and mineral resources, currently serving as Principal in various capacities at BHP since 2008. Bouffard's extensive experience includes leading efforts in process engineering, business improvement, and contracts and procurement, with notable achievements such as the creation of a successful brownfield tailings recovery conception study and the development of a digital twin that increased NPV by over US$500 million. Additionally, Bouffard has made significant contributions as a member of the Board of Directors for the International CCS Knowledge Centre and as a Programme Officer for The International Council on Mining and Metals. Bouffard holds multiple advanced degrees in metallurgical and chemical engineering from esteemed institutions, including a Ph.D. from The University of British Columbia.
