Wayne Savigny is a highly experienced Principal Geotechnical Engineer and Engineering Geologist at BGC Engineering, with a tenure beginning in August 1990, where responsibilities include senior review of project activities and mentoring. Prior to this, Wayne served as an Associate Professor and Acting Director of the Geological Engineering Program at The University of British Columbia from July 1986 to September 1995, focusing on teaching, research, and administration. Experience also includes a role as Principal Geotechnical Engineer and Engineering Geologist at Thurber Engineering Ltd. from July 1978 to June 1986, and as a Graduate Student at the University of Alberta, with research concentrated on permafrost and pipeline studies from September 1973 to June 1978. Early career experience includes work as a Research Associate with the Geological Survey of Canada, mapping the surficial and bedrock geology of the Canadian Arctic from September 1971 to August 1973. Wayne holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geological Engineering from Queen's University.
