Kimberly Hamilton is a Washington, DC transplant and proud New Yorker. After earning her Masters degree in 2012, she moved to DC to work for a consulting firm. Making $15/hour, paid monthly, with over $40,000 in student debt, she had a crash course in learning how to manage her money.
Over the next few years, Kimberly developed a system of managing and automating her finances that not only enabled her to pay off her student debt in three years, but also to buy her first home before her 30th birthday. In doing so, she noticed a lack of easily understood information regarding not only personal finance management, but also first-time home ownership, investing, and best practices in saving for retirement.
The content offered by Kimberly and Beworth Finance is intended to address that gap. In a writing and teaching style that uses common language and pop-culture references, Kimberly aims to make personal finance information more approachable and more easily digested by the average money maker. She currently does this through online courses, workshops, and webinars. She is also the author of Building Wealth on a Dime: Finding Your Financial Freedom.
As a writer and speaker, Kimberly has been featured in major publications such as Business Insider, Forbes, Health Magazine, Markets Insider, Newsday, and The Everygirl, among others. She has spoken on live television and led workshops on the emotional aspects of money, salary negotiation, student loan repayment and more with clients such as the Capital One Café, the Ellevate Network, and the United Women in Business Foundation. She is a Certified Financial Education Instructor and an Accredited Financial Counselor candidate.
When not working on Beworth, Kimberly leads financial education for major fintech company, Rocket Money. Above all, she is a travel junkie, pilates enthusiastic, wannabe foodie, and money nerd.
