Michael Dugher is a seasoned leader and advocate with extensive experience across various sectors, notably in government and the music and gaming industries. Currently serving as Chair and Chief Executive Officer of the Betting and Gaming Council since February 2020, Dugher has been instrumental in implementing significant changes within the industry. Prior to this role, Dugher was the CEO of UK Music Ltd from May 2017 to February 2020, where oversight of the commercial music industry as a trade association was key. Dugher's political career includes serving as Member of Parliament for Barnsley East and holding several shadow cabinet positions, alongside roles as Chief Political Spokesman to the Prime Minister and Special Adviser in various government departments. Dugher began expertise development in policy at the Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union, culminating in a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from the University of Nottingham.
