Jay Cook is a Senior Software Engineer at Betterment, having joined the company in February 2023. Prior to this role, Jay worked at Amazon from November 2017 to February 2023 as a Software Development Engineer, where notable projects included building new music station experiences for mobile and voice platforms. Earlier experience at Amazon also included an internship where Jay developed features for Amazon Music on Alexa. Jay's background includes a position as an Engineering Research Fellow at Auburn University, focusing on an iOS app for data interaction, which outperformed a leading spreadsheet application in user studies, as well as applying skills in sound engineering and embedded systems. Jay holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance, both from Auburn University.
