John Borthwick has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over several decades. John started their career at Mercer Management Consulting in 1987 as an Analyst - Project Manager. From 1987 to 1992, they worked at Oliver Wyman and Co. as a Manager/Associate. In 1994, they founded their own company called Total NY, where they served as the CEO until 1997. Simultaneously, they were also the CEO of Web Partners during the same period. In 1997, they joined Digital City as the Director of Product Development until 1998. From 1998 to 2003, they worked at AOL as the VP of New Product Development. In 2003, they joined Time Warner as the SVP of Technology and Corporate Alliances until 2006. John then became the CEO of Fotolog Inc. from 2006 to 2007. Finally, in 2008, they assumed the role of CEO at betaworks, where they currently serve.
John Borthwick received their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Wesleyan University, where they studied from 1984 to 1987. Later, they attended The Wharton School from 1992 to 1994 and earned their Master of Business Administration (MBA). The field of study for both their BA and MBA was not specified.
