Tobias Scherg is the current CEO & General Manager at BESA. Prior to this, they worked as an engineer and technologist at GE Power & Water from July 2008 to December 2010. There, they focused on the development of catalytic exhaust gas purification systems for stationary gas engines. From January 2008 to June 2008, they were a research associate at TUM, where they finished open topics from their PhD thesis and instructed the successor. Tobias was also a PhD student at TUM from September 2004 to December 2007, during which time they wrote their dissertation on catalysis at the “Department of Inorganic Chemistry” under the supervision of Prof. W. A. Herrmann. The topic of the thesis was "Verbrückte Bis(carben)metallkomplexe der späten Übergangsmetalle in der katalytischen CH-Aktivierung" and deals with the catalytic application of late transition metal complexes in the activation of the CH-Bound, especially Methane. Prior to their academic career, Tobias Scherg worked as a student worker at BMW from October 2001 to October 2003, and as a student worker in marketing at Rodenstock from March 1997 to June 1997.
Dr. Tobias Scherg has a Doctorate in Natural Sciences (Dr. rer. nat.) in Chemistry from Technische Universität München (TU Munich). Tobias also has a Diploma in Chemistry from the same school.
