Peter Herbst is an experienced portfolio manager specializing in real estate investments, currently managing the discretionary value-add Fund series at Berkshire since March 2019, overseeing equity investments in around 20,000 apartment units nationally. Prior to this role, Peter worked at Fortress Investment Group from July 2015 to February 2019, where responsibilities included analyzing and executing repositioning strategies for distressed real estate across various sectors. Peter's career began as an Investment Analyst at Benchmark Senior Living from 2010 to 2013, followed by summer internships at Lone Star Funds and Equity Group Investments, focusing on investment analysis and due diligence. Peter holds an M.B.A. in Real Estate and Finance from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and a B.A. in Economics and English from Boston College.
