Christine Gaurkee has extensive experience in education and program coordination. Since August 2003, Gaurkee has served as a Religion Teacher at Berkeley Preparatory School, where responsibilities include developing and implementing curriculum for grades 6-12, with a current emphasis on Western Religions, Eastern Religions, Ethics, and Religion and Popular Culture. Additionally, Gaurkee has held roles as the Director of the Berkeley Speaker Series and Co-Director of the Berkeley Institute for Journalism/Communications at Thomas Nelson Publishers since January 2011, and has authored the book "All You Want to Know But Didn't Think You Could Ask: Religions, Cults, and Popular Beliefs." Prior experience includes serving as the Spain Country Coordinator for Abbey Roads Programs from 2004 to 2009 and as a Researcher at Emory University's Council for Ecumenical and Multicultural Studies from 2000 to 2002. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Theology from Emory University, a Bachelor of Arts in Religion/Religious Studies from Florida Southern College, and ongoing studies for a Master's in Counseling and School Psychology at UMass Boston.
