Matt Nerzig is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in media relations and public affairs. Currently serving as the Manager of Outreach Communications and Media Relations Lead at Berkeley Lab since June 2021, Matt has previously held influential roles including Deputy Director of Communications and Media Strategy for Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, and Director of Communications and Public Affairs at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where a significant transformation of the media relations team resulted in a quadrupling of national science coverage. Other notable positions include Deputy Commissioner for Public Information at the NYC Department of Correction, Director of Communications at 32BJ SEIU, and roles within various governmental and nonprofit organizations.
