David Murphy is an experienced technology leader with over two decades in software engineering and architecture. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Benetech since March 2015, David oversees the development and operations of digital applications, notably the Bookshare application, which supports over 600,000 individuals with reading disabilities. Prior experience includes roles at Cengage Learning, where David contributed as an Enterprise Architect and Senior Director of Engineering, overseeing integration architecture and digital homework solutions. As the founder and CTO of NetDirect LLC, David established a successful venture specializing in data connectivity solutions for the Java enterprise market. David holds a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence from Georgia Institute of Technology and degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from Macquarie University, alongside a Diploma of Education in Mathematics.
