Geir Olav Melingen is an accomplished leader in the aquaculture industry, currently serving as the Head of Salmon, Health and Genetics at Benchmark Holdings plc since January 2019. Responsibilities include overseeing animal health products targeting sea lice and managing internal breeding programs for Atlantic Salmon across Norway, Iceland, and Chile. Additionally, Melingen leads Benchmark Genetics, a prominent provider of Atlantic salmon eggs and genetic services. Previous roles include CEO of Bergen Aquarium and Fishguard AS, as well as various senior positions in sales and marketing at MSD Animal Health and SalmoBreed AS. Melingen holds advanced degrees in Fish Immunology and Fish Health from the University of Bergen and has undergone extensive leadership training.
