Nicholas Fanning

Mechanical Design Engineer at Benchmark Space Systems

Nicholas Fanning has eight years of professional experience in the field of engineering. In 2014, they began as a Design Engineer at Flex-Cell Precision, Inc. Nicholas then moved on to GE Aviation in 2015 as a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op. In 2016, they returned to NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op. In 2017, they worked as a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op at Boom Supersonic and completed a Capstone Senior Design Project at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. In 2018, they joined Tesla as an Associate Equipment Engineer. In 2019, they moved to Flex-Cell Precision Inc. as a Mechanical Engineer. Most recently, in 2022 they began working as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Benchmark Space Systems.

Nicholas Fanning attended Manheim Township High School from 2009 to 2013, where they completed the International Baccalaureate Program. Nicholas then attended Swinburne University of Technology in 2013, but did not obtain a degree. From 2013 to 2018, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, such as a GD&T Certified Training from Exemplar Global, Inc. in 2021, a Six Sigma Green Belt from GE Aviation in 2015, and a Certified SolidWorks Mechanical Design Associate (CSWA) from SolidWorks in 2015.
