Mike Zhu is a software engineer with extensive experience in both software development and bioinformatics. Currently employed at Benchling since October 2020, Mike previously worked as a software developer at Jane Street and held software engineering roles at Benchling from June 2016 to March 2019. Early career experiences include a research assistant position at Randles Lab at Duke University, where computational fluid dynamics algorithms were implemented for simulations of human blood flow, and a bioinformatics internship at Caribou Biosciences, where machine learning algorithms were applied to predict protein-DNA interactions. Mike was also a team member for the Duke University iGEM team, successfully raising over $20,000 in grant funding for synthetic biology research. Mike holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science from Duke University, obtained in 2016.
