John Coker has a diverse work experience in the foodservice industry. John began their career at Sodexo in 2000 as a Senior Director of Marketing and Business Development. In 2005, they joined AVI Foodsystems and held various executive positions, including Chief Creative Officer and Executive Vice President for Corporate Strategy and Marketing. John later became the Executive Vice President for Education, overseeing the Education division and managing business development and sales nationwide. In 2018, Coker joined Compass Group as the SVP Supply Chain Management before being promoted to Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing in 2019. John then served as the President of Foodworks at Compass Group USA. In 2022, they became the President of BenchConnect. Throughout their career, Coker has been involved in creating and implementing strategic direction, promoting health and wellness, and developing innovative food service brands.

John Coker attended St. John's College from 1989 to 1990, where they pursued a degree in Western Civilization. John also studied at the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration without specifying the years of attendance or the field of study. Prior to their college education, they attended Shelton High School.
