Richard Collett has extensive work experience in the field of chemistry. Richard started their career as an Experimental Assistant at I.C.I. (Plastics) Ltd in 1974. From there, they worked at Berger Paints and Crown Paints as a Senior R&D Technologist and Senior R&D Chemist, respectively. Later, they joined Indu-Chem A/S and Rescon A/S as a Chemist. Currently, they are working as the Chief Chemist at Belzona.

Richard Collett attended Dame Elizabeth Cadbury School in Bournville, Birmingham from 1967 to 1972. Following this, they enrolled at Matthew Boulton Technical College in Birmingham between 1972 and 1974. Finally, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry/Polymer Science at Loughborough University from 1975 to 1979.
