Jovany Melendez has held various roles in the accounting and finance industry since 2009. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as a Youth Access Agent for the Boston Public Health Commission and as a Peer Educator for W.E.A.T.O.C. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a Stock Associate in the Men's Department at Filene's and as a Sales Support Associate, Inventory, and Home Theater Sales Consultant at Best Buy. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Security Shift Supervisor, Console Officer, and Patrol Officer at Apollo International. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Junior Accountant, Accounting Assistant, and Community Accounting Manager at Trinity Development & Management. Since 2019, they have been working as a Manager, Accounts Payable, Specialist, Accountant, and Seasonal Junior Accountant at BellXcel.

Jovany Melendez received an Associate of Arts & Science Degrees in Business Administration & Accounting from Roxbury Community College in 2018. Jovany also obtained a CPO certification from the National Affordable Housing Management Association in June 2018.
