Alyssa (Welsh) Symmes has a diverse work experience in the field of education and mental health. Alyssa started their career as a School Psychologist Intern at CUSD in 2012. From 2013, they have been associated with Bellevue School District, where they took on various roles including School Psychologist, Mental Health Assistance Team Counselor, and currently serves as the Mental Health Assistance Team Lead. Prior to that, they worked as a Student Ambassador in the Office of Admissions at Teachers College, Columbia University from 2010 to 2012.

Alyssa (Welsh) Symmes has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from Wake Forest University, which they obtained from 2006 to 2010. Alyssa then pursued further education at Teachers College, Columbia University, where they earned both a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in School Psychology from 2010 to 2013. Currently, Alyssa is a Ph.D. candidate in School Psychology at the University of Washington.
