Alifiyah started their career in 2011 as a Web Software Developer at Techbiz Ltd, where they developed web projects and configured communication solutions. Alifiyah then worked as a Web Developer at Jafftek Computer Solutions, where they gained experience in wireframe design, website development, and email marketing.

In 2012, Alifiyah joined organizations like Mozilla and Google Developers, taking on roles such as Community Coordinator, Community Manager, and Regional Coordinator. During this time, they focused on promoting open source projects, advancing women's visibility and involvement in technology, and organizing events and programs for developers.

Alifiyah also played a significant role in founding and leading the Mombasa Tech Community, an organization that inspired and supported technology innovation through networking and mentoring.
