Judith S. Beck, PhD has extensive experience in cognitive behavior therapy and psychological research. Judith S. is currently the President and Director of the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, a position they have held since 1994. Additionally, they have been self-employed as an author and speaker since 1985. Dr. Beck is also a Clinical Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, starting in 2000. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Professional Services at the Center for Cognitive Therapy at the University of Pennsylvania from 1990 to 1994.
Judith S. Beck, PhD earned their Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from the University of Pennsylvania in 1975. Judith S. then pursued their Master's Degree in Educational Psychology at Columbia University, completing it in 1976. Following that, they attended the University of Pennsylvania again and obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology in 1982.
