Barry Cochran has extensive experience in the education field. Barry is currently working as a Teacher for the Beaverton School District since 2022. Prior to that, they were a Teacher at Edison High School from 2018 to 2021. Barry also worked as a Session Facilitator at RTI International from 2017 to 2018, and as an Adjunct Faculty at the University of Portland from 2012 to 2017. Before that, they served as an English Teacher at Benson Polytechnic High School from 2013 to 2015. Barry also has experience teaching at Pampa Independent School District from 2009 to 2012, where they taught Advanced Placement English Literature, ACT/SAT/College Prep, Debate/Oral Interpretation I, and Senior English. Additionally, they worked as a Part-Time Instructor at West Texas A&M University from 2009 to 2010 and as a Teacher at Dumas Independent School District from 2001 to 2008, teaching various English courses and English as a Second Language.
Barry Cochran holds a Master of Arts degree in History, which they obtained from West Texas A&M University from 2001 to 2008. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English, achieving Magna Cum Laude honors, also at West Texas A&M University, from 1998 to 2001. In 2013, Barry obtained the Oregon Teacher Certification for English Language Arts, Social Sciences, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and Legacy Middle Level from the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices institution.
