Selena Armistead has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on quality assurance. Their work experience includes roles at various companies, starting in 2002 at Biogen where they held positions in manufacturing and product quality management. Selena then moved to Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. in 2019 as an Associate Director, where they worked in CMC quality and external quality operations. In 2021, they joined Xilio Therapeutics, Inc. as the Director and Head of External Quality Operations. Currently, Selena Armistead is working as the Senior Director of Product Quality - Cell Therapy at Beam Therapeutics, starting in February 2023.

Selena Armistead has a Master of Science degree in Project Management from Boston University, which they completed in 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Supply Chain Management Certification in Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management from Boston University in 2020. In 2001, Selena earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology, General from Salem State University. Earlier, in 1999, they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Tulane University. In addition to their formal education, Selena has obtained various certifications, including Alternative Investment and Certificate in Leadership Principles from Harvard Business School Online in 2022, and Women in Leadership: Online Program for Emerging Leaders from the Professional Development division of Harvard Division of Continuing Education in 2021.
