Sarah Thackray has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2003 with IBM UK as a Relocation Service Owner, where they managed relocations of P&G employees worldwide and supported in global supplier management. From 2005 to 2009, they worked at Benchmark Communications as Head of Production/Senior Project Manager. In 2009, they became the Chief Liaison Officer for Tall Ships Races 2010 at Hartlepool Borough Council. Sarah then worked as an Events and Marketing Manager at Entrust/Service Network from 2010 to 2011. In 2014, Sarah founded BeaconHouse Events and served as the Founder and Director, focusing on delivering impact through sustainable solutions and clever thinking. Sarah also held the role of Events & Conference Manager (freelance) at BeaconHouse Events from 2010 to 2014. Sarah has also been involved in various voluntary roles, including Director positions at Dynamo North East and Groundwork NE & Cumbria trading company The Greenhouse starting in 2019, as well as being a Member of the Entrepreneurs' Forum since 2017.
Sarah Thackray has a BA Hons degree in Spanish with French from Newcastle University, which they earned from 1998 to 2002. Sarah also holds a Professional Diploma in Marketing from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing, which they obtained from 2006 to 2007. In addition, they have an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Diploma Level 5 from Newcastle College, completed from 2008 to 2010. Sarah Thackray also received training in PRINCE2 Project Management from Carnegie in 2007. Sarah'smost recent educational experience was a Business Growth Net Zero Programme at Cranfield School of Management, in which they participated from 2022 to 2023. Prior to their university studies, they attended Putney High School in London from 1991 to 1998.
