Raffaele Montagna has a diverse and extensive work experience. Raffaele is currently employed as the Group Director of IT at BE-terna since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Lektor at FH Kufstein Tirol – University of Applied Sciences from October 2018 onwards. From July 2019 to January 2023, they served as the Head of IT Department at Berger Logistik GmbH. Raffaele also held several leadership roles at Innsbrucker Kommunalbetriebe AG, including being the Business Area Manager for Information Technology from July 2018 to April 2019 and the Business Area Manager for Telecommunication and Information Systems from October 2006 to June 2018. Before that, they worked as a Senior Project Manager at Eurofighter Typhoon from September 2003 to September 2006 and at EADS Defence & Security from May 1999 to September 2006. Raffaele's early career included being the Head of IT Department at DB Schenker from May 1996 to April 1999.

Raffaele Montagna obtained a Dipl.-Ing. Univ. degree in Elektrotechnik und Automatisierungstechnik from the Technical University of Munich between 1988 and 1996. Additionally, they pursued further education in Management Skills for Business Leaders at MCI | The Entrepreneurial School™ and completed the Executive Program for Strategic Management at MCI | The Entrepreneurial School™. Raffaele also studied Strategisches Management für Executives at St. Galler Business School.
