Ricky Carroll has extensive work experience in various roles within the field of emergency management and response. Ricky started their career in 2001 as an Emergency Management Coordinator at Washington Group International. In 2001, they also became a Master CBRNE Instructor at the FEMA Center for Domestic Preparedness.

In 2010, Ricky worked as the Deputy Director of Operations at O'Brien's Response Management. Ricky then served as the Planning Section Chief at OMI Environmental Solutions in 2012 for a brief period.

From 2013 to 2014, Ricky worked at BCFS Health & Human Services in multiple positions, including Project Specialist and Incident Management Team member.

In 2014, they joined the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a Technical Consultant. Ricky later became an On-Site Supervisor (PDS) at PIKA International, Inc in 2016.
