Tom Fleming has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Tom started their career in the US Navy in 1977, where they held the position of FCC (SW) (UDT) and was responsible for managing a division of 30 personnel. During their time in the navy, they gained expertise in areas such as self-defense and ship management.
After leaving the Navy in 1985, Tom became the owner of Ashland Construction until 1992. Tom then worked as the Director of Construction and Tenant Improvements at Warehouse Management Services from 1992 to 2001.
In 2001, Tom joined Concrete Cutting & Breaking Co as an estimator, and later in 2003, they became the Director of Operations at American Cutting and Drilling Co., Inc until 2006.
Tom then transitioned into a role as the Chief Estimator/ Large Projects Manager at American Cutting and Drilling Co., Inc in 2007. Tom stayed with the company until 2018, taking on the position of Senior Project Manager and being responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously as well as training project managers.
Currently, Tom is working as a Project Manager at BCCM Construction Group starting from 2023.
Tom Fleming's education history begins in 1974 when they attended Sanford Naval Academy for college preparatory and military school. Tom completed their high school education and obtained a high school diploma from Randolph Macon Academy in 1976. From 1977 to 1977, Tom studied undergraduate general courses at Broward College but did not earn a degree.
Tom then enrolled at Old Dominion University in 1981 and received an Associate of Science degree in Mathematics in 1982. Tom continued their education at the same university and earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEET) from Old Dominion University between 1983 and 1985.
Aside from their formal education, Tom Fleming has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 1987, they became a FL Certified General Contractor through FL DBPR. In 2000, they obtained a FL Professional Engineer certification from FL DBPR. Tom also earned a Green Accredited Contractor certification from Associated Building Contractors in 2008. Additionally, they acquired the LEED AP certification from USGBC in 2008 and became a Procore Certified Project Manager through Procore Technologies in 2022. Furthermore, they completed the OSHA 30 Hour course at UC San Diego Extended Studies in 2015 and the OSHA 10 Hour course at OSHA-Safety-Training.com in 2006. Finally, Tom obtained certifications as a Ground Penetrating Radar Operator from Geophysical Survey Systems, Inc. (GSSI) in 2010 and as an MSHA Miner Certified from MSHA USDL in 2007.
