Director Strategic Procurement at BC Transit

Candace M. has extensive work experience in procurement and supply management. Candace is currently serving as the Director of Strategic Procurement at BC Transit since July 2022. Prior to that, they held the role of A/Director of Strategic Procurement from April 2022 to July 2022 at the same company. Candace also worked as the Manager of Contracts at BC Transit from May 2021 to April 2022.

Before joining BC Transit, Candace worked for the Government of British Columbia from 2017 to 2021. Their roles at the government included A/Director - Contract Performance from March 2021 to May 2021, Director of Procurement from May 2019 to February 2021, IM/IT Procurement Specialist from February 2018 to May 2019, and Procurement Specialist from October 2017 to January 2018.

Prior to their tenure at the Government of British Columbia, Candace worked at the Government of Saskatchewan as a Strategic Business Procurement Analyst from October 2014 to October 2017.

Candace also has experience working in the private sector. Candace served as a Strategic Sourcing Lead at the Brandt Group of Companies from May 2013 to October 2014. Additionally, they worked as a Senior Supply Management Consultant at the University of Regina from May 2011 to May 2013.

Candace's career began in 2005 at SaskTel, where they held multiple roles including Manager - Fiber to the Premise from January 2011 to May 2011, and Manager - Logistics, Transportation & Customs from May 2005 to February 2011.

Candace M. began their education at the University of Saskatchewan, where they earned a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm) degree in Public Administration from 2001 to 2005. Candace then attended the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST) from 2005 to 2009, obtaining a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) Designation. In 2004, Candace also received a French Immersion Certificate from the Universite du Quebec a Trois Rivieres. In 2018, they pursued further education at The International Association for Contract & Commercial Management (IACCM), specializing in Contract and Commercial Management. Additionally, they completed online courses at John Deere University in 2013-2014 and Asean Online Education AOE in 2019, focusing on Construction, Agriculture, and Change Management respectively. Candace has obtained several additional certifications including Conflict of Interest - Passport Program, People First Leadership Program, Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP), and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
