Renee Turner

Research Coordinator at BC Society of Transition Houses

Renee Turner is an experienced research coordinator and yoga teacher with a strong background in public health and education. Currently, as a Research Coordinator at the BC Society of Transition Houses since October 2015, Renee leads the Reaching Out with Yoga project, a five-year mixed methods study examining the effects of trauma-informed yoga on women and children affected by violence. Renee has also held research coordinator roles at UBC Centre for Rural Health Research and UBC Centre for Prison Health & Education, focusing on community-based health projects. Prior experience includes teaching first-year medical students at UBC Faculty of Medicine and working as a health researcher at the University of Sydney. Renee holds a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of Victoria.
