Marcie Moriarty

Chief, Protection And Outreach at BC SPCA

Marcie Moriarty is an accomplished professional in animal protection and welfare, currently serving as the Chief of Protection and Outreach at the BC SPCA since January 2005. In this role, Marcie oversees the department responsible for enforcing the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, developing outreach programs, and managing legal proceedings related to animal welfare. Additionally, Marcie's experience includes serving as Chief Prevention and Enforcement Officer at the BC SPCA and General Manager of Cruelty Investigations at Humane Canada since April 2019. Marcie has also contributed to academia as an adjunct professor in the "Animals and the Law" course at The University of British Columbia and held leadership positions, including Chair and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for Humane Canada. Marcie holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology from The University of British Columbia.
