Hongzheng Dai

Assistant Laboratory Director, Clinical Genomics Interpretation at Baylor Genetics

Hongzheng Dai has a diverse work experience in the field of molecular and human genetics. HONGZHENG started their career as a Research Associate at Baylor College of Medicine in 2013. During this time, they worked on various research projects. HONGZHENG then joined Baylor Miraca Genetics Laboratories in 2013 as a Research Clinical Scientist. In this role, they were responsible for reviewing and reporting results from clinical next generation sequencing data. HONGZHENG also played a key role in overseeing Noonan spectrum cases. In 2016, they became an ABMGG Clinical Molecular Genetics & Genomics Fellow at Baylor College of Medicine, where they gained further expertise in molecular genetics. In 2018, they joined Baylor College of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in Molecular and Human Genetics. Additionally, they also took on the role of Assistant Laboratory Director for Clinical Genomics Interpretation at Baylor Genetics.

Hongzheng Dai's education history is as follows:

Hongzheng Dai started their education in 1992 at Tsinghua University, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Molecular Biology in 2000.

From 2000 to 2007, Hongzheng Dai attended the University of Chicago, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.). Their field of study was focused on Function study on young ncRNA genes and Genome structure dynamics.

Following their doctoral studies, Hongzheng Dai joined The Rockefeller University from 2008 to 2010 as a Postdoctoral Fellow. During this time, their research primarily focused on Epigenetics, Rna directed DNA methylation, and gene targeting.

From 2011 to 2013, Hongzheng Dai attended the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Although no specific degree is mentioned, their field of study was Stem/Cancer cell epigenetics/epigenomic. They conducted research related to Histone modification, DNA methylation, and Environmental Risks.

In terms of additional certifications, Hongzheng Dai obtained a Diplomate Certification in Clinical Molecular Genetics and Genomics from the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics in September 2019. They also hold an MB(ASCP) certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), although the specific details regarding when it was obtained are not provided.
