Dr. Daniel Gietl currently serves as the Deputy Head of Unit for Digital Affairs at Bayerische Staatskanzlei, a position held since December 2020. Prior to this, Dr. Gietl was an Adviser for Digital Strategy and Society at Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Digitales from October 2019 to December 2020. Dr. Gietl's academic career includes a tenure as a Doctoral Candidate and Lecturer in Economics at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München from October 2014 to September 2019, focusing on Public Economics, Behavioral Economics, and Banking Regulation, culminating in a dissertation titled "Bankers' Bonuses and Biased Beliefs: Three Essays on Risk-Taking under Limited Liability." Dr. Gietl has also garnered experience in corporate strategy at Siemens and contributed to educational programs at various institutions, possessing a comprehensive academic background with a PhD from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and a Master’s from the University of Amsterdam.
