Jim Stockinger has held a variety of roles in the emergency response and fire service industries over the past two decades. In 2019, they began working as an Emergency Response Program Manager for Bay West LLC. From 2012 to present, they have been an Instructor at the Anoka County Fire Training Academy, where they have been involved in developing the academy and has achieved a 98% passing rate for students on nationally-based firefighter certification tests. From 1997 to present, they have been an Assistant Fire Chief - Training and Operations at the Linwood Fire Department, where they have developed, implemented and managed a competency-based training program and supervised numerous staff. From 1996 to 2005, they were a State Program Administrator with the Emergency Management Unit and a Hydrogeologist at the State of Minnesota - MPCA. In this role, they oversaw high-profile, complex environmental projects and emergencies and developed innovative strategies to facilitate, network and train with a diverse group of stakeholders. Since 2005, they have also been the MPCA's liaison to the fire service, actively networking and developing and implementing training programs.
Jim Stockinger received a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Conservation/Hydrology from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls between 1991 and 1995. Jim also holds certifications as an Emergency Medical Technician from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (obtained in March 2016), a Licensed Minnesota Firefighter from the MN Board of Firefighter Training and Education (obtained in July 2011), an Emergency Manager from the MN Homeland Security Emergency Managment (obtained in September 2009), an Emergency Medical Responder from the Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board (obtained in July 1997), and a Basic Life Support Instructor from the American Heart Association.
