Lee'smost extensive work experience is with Elevator World Inc. where they began as a Proofreader in 2005, advanced to Copy Editor in 2007, then to Associate Editor in 2007-2014, and ended as Senior Associate Editor from 2014-2021.

From 2001 to 2005, Lee Freeland attended the University of South Alabama where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
