Louise Oloughlin

Chief Operations Officer at Basketball Ireland

Louise O'Loughlin has a diverse work experience in the sports industry. Starting in 2007, they worked as a Competitions Administrator at Basketball Ireland before becoming a Programme Facilitator at the South Dublin Senior Citizens Club in 2008. In 2010, they returned to Basketball Ireland as a Senior Competitions Officer and later became the Chief Operations Officer. In this role, they were responsible for logistics, planning, and leading staff for various national and European events. Louise also managed and coordinated national competitions and school competitions. In 2015, they volunteered at the Baku 2015 1st European Olympic Games as the 3x3 Basketball Field of Play Team Leader, where they ensured the smooth running of the competition and created a safe environment for athletes.

Louise O'Loughlin obtained a BA Honours degree in Business, Recreation & Leisure Management from Waterford Institute of Technology, which they attended from 2002 to 2007. Louise further pursued a Master's degree in Sports and Exercise Psychology at the same institute, completing it from 2007 to 2008. In 2021, Louise acquired an Accredited Certificate in Mediation from the Mediation Foundation of Ireland. Additionally, they earned an iTEC Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology & Massage from Crumlin College of Further Education in 2002 and 2001. Furthermore, Louise completed an Advanced Diploma in Personal Leadership and Executive Coaching at Kingstown College in 2019. Lastly, in 2019 and 2020, they obtained a Level 9 Special Purpose Award in Professional Certificate in Governance (Principles and Practices in Governance) from the National University of Ireland.
