Shalini Vakare has diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Shalini currently holds the position of Associate Head of Production - India at Basilic Fly Studio since March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Wiley as a Senior Project Manager - Operations from December 2021 to March 2023. From April 2019 to December 2021, they served as a Manager - Compositing at ANIBRAIN DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED. Before that, they were an Assistant Production Manager at Anibrain Digital Technologies Pvt. Ltd. from August 2017 to March 2019. Shalini's earlier experience includes roles such as Assistant Manager at Crest (part of the Springer Nature group) from January 2012 to August 2017, Assistant Manager at Springer Nature from January 2015 to June 2017, and Senior Production Coordinator at Springer Nature from January 2013 to December 2014. Shalini worked as a Course Developer at eNyota Learning Pvt. Ltd. from May 2010 to September 2011, and as a Project Lead at Merlion from January 2005 to April 2010. Shalini started their career at Estel Conversion Labs Pvt Ltd as a Team Lead from September 2002 to December 2004, after initially working as a team member. Shalini'searliest known work experience was at Mapro Transcription from January 1998 to August 2002, where they started as a Medical Transcriptionist and gradually climbed to the position of Senior Transcription Editor.

Shalini Vakare completed their B.Sc degree in Botany, Chemistry, and Zoology from Jeevan Sadhana High School between 1991 and 1994. Later, they pursued a B.Ed degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Savitribai Phule Pune University, which was completed between 2011 and 2012.
