Martin Howlett is an environmental health professional with over 20 years of experience in various roles within local government. Currently serving as the Environmental Health Team Manager at Basildon Borough Council since October 2019, Martin previously held the position of Environmental Health Team Leader at Rochford District Council from August 2001 to October 2019, overseeing all Environmental Health functions. Martin has also held multiple titles, including Principal Environmental Health Officer and Acting Environmental Health Manager, contributing to a comprehensive background in food safety, health and safety, environmental protection, and private sector housing. Additionally, Martin chaired the Essex Air Quality Consortium from 2011 to 2014, collaboratively addressing air quality issues with local authorities and institutions.
