Nic Appleby is an experienced technology leader with a strong background in engineering and software development. Currently serving as the Engineering Director for Core Services at Bash since June 2024, Nic previously held the role of Chief Technology Officer at MasterStart from September 2021 to June 2024 and at Balfour Group from August 2020 to September 2021. Nic's career began as a Freelance Developer and Consultant at Nic Appleby Development/Consulting, where expertise in web solutions was developed from August 2008 to September 2021. Prior experiences include serving as Backend Technical Lead at Superbalist.com, Lead Developer at Naspers Labs, Senior Developer at the University of the Western Cape, and Research Developer at the University of Cape Town. Nic received a B.Sc (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Cape Town and has pursued additional leadership and technical education through various institutions, including the Gordon Institute of Business Science and Wits Business School.
