Joe Light is a senior writer at Barron's and a former reporter for Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal. Joe covers corporate influence in Washington as well as cryptocurrency lobbying and regulation. Joe previously wrote about taxes and for several years covered housing policy, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Light began their career as a staff writer at Money Magazine in 2007, where they wrote about investing topics such as the post-financial crisis recovery in stocks, Facebook's botched IPO and the rise of bitcoin. Joe joined The Wall Street Journal as a reporter in 2010, where they covered mortgage finance, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for the U.S. News department. Joe has also written about pockets of the country with deeply underwater borrowers, the controversy over raising the pay of Fannie's and Freddie's CEOs and the battle between the Justice Department and lenders over mistakes on loans to low-wealth borrowers.

Joe Light has a Bachelor of Arts in Theirtory from Yale University and a certification from edX in Introduction to Computer Science and Programming.
