Sam Adams-Lanham, MLIS, has over a decade of experience in library services and community engagement. Currently serving as the Community Engagement Librarian at Barrington Area Library since August 2012, Sam adapts the "embedded librarian" model to foster connections within community groups, enhances the library's social capital, and develops programs tailored to local residents' needs. Previous roles include Associate Librarian, providing customer support and outreach to homebound patrons, and Writing Tutor at Northeastern Illinois University, focusing on students' organizational and communication skills. Sam also held leadership positions on the Executive Board of D300 PTO, contributing to family-school interactions and project management, and served as Centre Director at Jenny Craig, driving performance and staff development. Sam holds a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from Dominican University and a Bachelor of Arts in Workforce Development and Training from Northeastern Illinois University.
